E But its a ghost town causwe its haunted by ghosts The town was founded with the goal that it would be the societal model that we all were to follow There was no money there was no law it was all for one and one for all and everyhting was good for a while G Old john wattles struck it gold D when he promptly bought the land and sold F C it all away with a wooden house and a ticket G up to heaven G Its a shame they didn't know D as the river waters slowly rose C D there was something unholy bout that flood of E 47 On the coldest of the winter nights If you go down by the riverside theres apparitions dancing in the moonlight they're the remnants of the lives Taken when the whole town died By the deed of careless arrogant eyes Brick by brick they moved it all The entirety of that old town hall Down to the riverside, against all the locals cries river starts to rise And there was a party that night When the mighty ohio ripped out the side The icy waters swept in fast If they didnt drown they didnt last The hypothermia that quickly ensued The souls went up the the pearly gates But Peter turned them all away and said God has different plans for you This town is called Utopia, and as perfect as it was The town was built on hopes and dreams And washed away by a flood if you're just passing by its interesting to keep in mind theres more dead residents than there are alive Theres a town that I know Sittin on the ohio It aint to far but it aint to close Its a ghost town some would say Cause everybody moved away But utopia haunted by ghosts CASEY JONES Dm F On a sunday evening Portsmouth, and the band I was in (Clint Goffena and the Blind Folds), largely shaped the way I view music and life in general. Even though a lot of these songs go unlistened to, they transport me back to a time and place in my life unlike any other work I've done. Because of that, I will always cherish these songs, and the times they represent.
